Research Note |

Daniel Pfeiffer and Johann Philipus Daniel Pfeiffer were born in different regions of Germany; both married an Anna Maria. The confusion pertains to the names of the two villages where they were born, Langenbuch and Langenbach.
In the early 18th century, Langenbuch was located in Orange Varrum, Königreich Sachsen, which is now Schleiz, Saale-Orla-Kreis, Thuringia, Germany. Daniel Pfeiffer was born in Langenbuch, Orange Varrum, and immigrated to America in 1754 or 1756.
Langenbach bei Bad Marienberg is in current day Westerwaldkreis, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Johann Philipus Daniel Pfeiffer was born in Langenbach and immigrated to America in 1751.6,7,8,9,10,1,5 |
