He married Sarah Stone and fathered William D. (b. 06/23/63), Mary Ellen "Ella" (b. 05/04/66 - married Emanuel P. Starry), James C. (b. @1868), Herman L. (b. 09/10/70), Charles R. (b. 05/10/73), Ira E. (b. 03/22/75), Murry E. (b. 09/14/77), and Sara May "Sallie" (b. 04/09/80 - married William E. Robinson).

He died at his home at the reported age of 62-7-21 and had been a member of Carlisle's Colwell Post No. 201, G.A.R.1
